PARAMETER
Q:What is the data throughput on these keystones? item description claims 'speeds up to 1gbp/s'. choke point?
A:They are compliant with Cat6/Cat5e/Cat5 standards. So speeds up to 1Gbp/s. If your entire network is built for 1Gbp/s you should be fine as everything will have cross talk. If your switching, wiring, networking equipment and inbound/outbound connection all have capacity of above 1Gbp/s you'll need shielded. If you contact us with your intended use we could provide better insight. Generally Cat6 1Gbp/s is everywhere and is pretty standard right now for deployments. 6A/Shielded (above 1Gbp/s) is more rare/special circumstances.
Q:Can i use this as a telephone rj11 jack if i hook up the wires properly to the middle four terminals?
A:We advise for best results to use RJ11 keystone instead of RJ45 for a telephone wire. Unless you're running VOIP via cat6/5e/5 wiring, if that is the case these will work just fine.
